Pittsburgh STANDDOWN 2012

Save the date for Stand Down 2012, a one-day service fair for current and formerly homeless veterans and their families on Saturday, August 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship, located at 13 Pride Street in Uptown.

FLAG DAY 2012     June 14

We will create a Memorial Flag quilt at The Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, in Pittsburgh from 10am-3pm. The finished Flag will be donate to the facility as wall art at the end of the day.

This will also be the kick-off event for our oral histories project, that will become a permanent part of our annual LETTERS , a public presentation each Veteran's Day.

"LETTERS" is a spoken word event on Saturday Nov.12, 2-4PM in recognition of our nation's military Veterans through their correspondence . Please join Seton Hill students and Vet Art Project Pittsburgh (VAPP) for the 2nd annual gathering and share a personal letter from a veteran in your life or simply honor the readings of others with your presence.

Pittsburgh STANDOWN 2011


Saturday August 20th, volunteers from Vet Art Project Pittsburgh (VAPP) worked at STANDDOWN 2011 sponsored by the Veteran's Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania. This outdoor fair was at Shepherd's Heart Fellowship, 13 Pride St.,   Pgh.,PA 15219, and ran from 8am until 3pm. Veterans attending the fair, had the opportunity to contribute a small personal memory to a time capsule American Flag Quilt, that will be a touring exhibit at future VAPP Veteran Events. LETTERS



LETTERS is a witness and interactive event honoring our nation’s veterans of domestic and foreign wars.

Where: DV8 Espresso Bar and Gallery, 208 South Penna Ave, Greensburg, PA
When: Saturday November 13, 2010 2pm –5pm

Open to the public, please join us to witness letter readings from soldiers at war, in peace and throughout our nation’s history. Before you leave take a moment to write an open letter to an active soldier and in cooperation with Operation Homefront, VAPP will get your letter into the hands of a soldier.
